Poppy Orbicular Jasper Conch Shell and Leather Braided Necklace

All of my handmade, one of a kind, jasper jewelry is made and hand polished by my dad! :)

He found the jasper himself! The jasper is from the Central Coast in California.
This particular type of jasper is rare and found only in that area, so it would make a very special and unique gift for that amazing person in your life or a special treat for yourself! If you look closely, you'll see why it's called Poppy Jasper. There are many tiny "flowers" all throughout the stone. Isn't nature interesting and wonderful?!
And the stone itself has such pretty, earth tone colors.

This beautiful jasper is actually based off a conch shell I found at the beach in Cambria, Ca before I moved up here to Washington. (Last little treasures before the move.) :)
My dad was looking for some new inspiration for a carving and we were looking at our beach stones and shells. I said, "What about the conch shell?" And here it is! A beautiful rendition of the shell.

Now you too, can have a bit of the beach life! :)
This stone is about 1 1/2 inches long and a little over an inch wide. A great size/shape!
My dad carved it in a beautiful 3-D way, with the beautiful conch shell curves to it. Great design!

My dad then took the stone and hand braided several strands of dark brown leather to create a tightly woven pattern. It's a creative and unique look to offset the stone. Then he connected a clasp to tie it nicely together. The necklace is about 20" long.

This will be wrapped in tissue paper, put in a box and mailed First Class in a bubble mailer.
